Job Description

Principal Corporate Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:
Be part of a team of Corporate Systems Engineers specializing in EMC Symmetrix storage platforms and infrastructure host software products. Specific responsibilities include:
§ Beta testing of Symmetrix storage platforms and new Enginuity releases at customer sites.
§ Development and conduct of various knowledge transfer activities, including white papers, feature/function presentations, technical content and delivery in internal and customer oriented conferences.
§ Creation and delivery of EMC product related solutions (design, build, test and communicate) and storage platform/business continuance product technical competitive intelligence.
§ Escalation of field pre/post-sales issues to other areas in Engineering and/or Global Services, and
§ Participation in qualified customer pre/post-sales engagements.

Experience and Education:
Minimum BSc in Computer Science or related discipline and 5 to 8 years software development/professional services experience. The position requires knowledge and experience in storage industry hardware/software. The ideal candidate will also have experience in a field based Systems Engineering role, an in-depth knowledge of/experience with EMC products, and in particular of Symmetrix Hardware, the Enginuity operating environment, TimeFinder, SRDF, Virtual Provisioning, Open Replicator, and/or the Solutions Enabler product sets. Candidates with experience with other vendor’s storage platforms and business continuity software, database management systems, and/or with experience working in customer sites as a mainframe (MVS, OS390, or z/OS) systems programmer or UNIX/Windows Systems Administrator, will be favorably considered.
