Sr. PR Specialist

GENERAL SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Sr. Manager or Director of Public Relations, this position helps to contribute to and support the execution of clear, concise and effective Global Public Relations Program. The Sr. PR Specialist conducts and organizes standard to slightly complex public relations activities relating to a specific PR program including drafting proactive media pitches, developing key product and company positioning statements and developing media outreach strategies. The Senior PR Specialist may take the lead on certain projects relating to a specific PR program but is not responsible for the complete program design. The Sr. PR Specialist serves as key contact for select media outlets and may serve as an official EMC spokesperson
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Develops and edits news releases and spokesperson Q&As, drafts proactive media pitches, and researches and develops background information
Organizes media interviews and conducts press calls
Serves as key contact for select media outlets
Interacts with senior company management, senior communications management, international subsidiaries, external resources such as agencies and consultants, partner companies, and representatives of the news media, financial community, industry analysts and other potential external influencers.
Provides analysis for PR program results and makes recommendations for improvement/ change
Represents EMC in a positive and effective manner, exhibiting behavior consistent with EMC''''s values
Receives minimal supervision for most assignments and requires only general instructions for non-standard analysis and projects
